Removing the pallet cuts load weight and trailer cube, and eliminates the wood that has to be inspected, repaired, stored, and disposed of.

Construction

Slip sheets are laminated rather than single-ply. Bonding multiple plies with a water-resistant adhesive raises tensile, tear, and burst strength above what the same plies deliver individually, which is what allows a sheet thin enough to slide under a load to carry that load without tearing at the lip.

Board is virgin kraft, recycled, or a combination, selected for the load and the storage environment. Poly coated stock is available where the load needs a moisture barrier or a controlled surface friction.

Lip Configurations

One, two, three, and four lip sheets are all standard. Lip count follows how the load is worked:

• One lip for single-direction push-pull handling
• Two lips for handling from either end
• Three and four lips where the load is worked from multiple sides or transferred between operations

Lips are cut to your dimension along with the sheet.

Capability

Sheets are cut to your dimensions. There is no stock size program.

Specification Support

The specification has to account for the load, the push-pull attachment, and the operation’s margin. Sheets that fail usually fail at the lip, because the caliper and ply count were set to the load weight without checking what the attachment actually grips.

Our design group and test lab work the specification against all three before the first order. The lab tests basis weight, caliper, internal bond, stiffness, tensile, and burst, and conditions samples in an air circulating oven, humidity chamber, and water immersion where the storage environment calls for it.
